Dr. Simmons attemps to be accessible for all urgent issues. If he is not immediately available by office telephone, please leave a message and he will return your call as soon as possible. Calls are generally returned within one business day, (24 hours). If your call is an emergency, please contact 911 immediately instead of calling the office, this includes sucidal ideations. Emergency psychiatric services are provided by all hospitals through their emergency rooms and do not require appointments. When Dr. Simmons is unavailble for extended periods of time (i.e., vacation, conferences, etc.), phone coveage will be provided by his colleague and contact information will be provided on his office voicemail. Please also note that emails will also be returned within 48 hours for NON URGENT matters.
We understand that there may be times when patients will need refills of medications. Due to the DEMAND with refills we request you call 5 BUSINESS DAYS in advance for ALL refill request. (We reserve the right to DENY refill request).
Please contact your pharmacy to send us a refill request before contacting the office.
Only refills for STIMULANTS require a phone call to the office with a 5 DAY NOTICE. Refills for stimulants WILL BE DENIED if the patient hasn't been seen in a two to three month time frame (depending on the patient history).
In some cases, prior authorizations need the approval from your insurance company to be filed, expect a delay of 2-5 business days for processing.
